Activity on Referral
Activity On Referral (AOR) is a countywide referral programme for inactive adults who are overweight or living with a health condition, AOR provides a positive introduction to active lifestyles.

Government guidelines recommend that adults should try to be active for at least 150 minutes per week. However, for some people, this is challenging, particularly if they are living with a health condition that can make it harder. Therefore, may need some extra support. This is where the AOR scheme can help.

AOR helps people to increase their levels of physical activity in a safe and structured environment. The service provides health screening; advice and access to exercise, led by highly qualified exercise professionals.

How it works
The AoR Scheme provides sedentary individuals with a positive introduction to being physically active. This 12 week introductory exercise programme enables individuals to maintain a physically active lifestyle with a view to improving both their physical and mental well being
Who is AOR for?
AOR is for people who are aged 16+years of age, have a long term illness or chronic medical condition, such as; diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, joint, muscle and mobility conditions, mental health problems, pulmonary or cardiovascular disease. Or have a Body Mass Index (BMI) above 30 or 28 with co-morbidities that are currently inactive i.e. doing less than 30 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week.
